Let the madness begin! The selection committee just made their picks for who’s in and who’s out, and let me tell ya, this is going to be a crazy year of March Madness. Kentucky, UCLA, and North Carolina all ended up in the same region.
Who I like
There’s a handful of teams that really stand out to me this year as teams that can make a run for the title. Two of them that I really like are:
Oregon – The 3 seed in the Midwest region, is led by Junior star Dillon Brooks. The Ducks are coming off of a great year finishing with a record of 29-5, and runner ups in the Pac-12 conference. They have been playing really well lately, and have done a great job in close games this year. Expect them to make a deep run this year.
Kentucky – The Wildcats are the 2 seed in the South region. They also finished their year 29-5, and were the SEC champs. They have great, young talent, and I can see them going far this year, which as of late is not unusual for Coach Calipari and his Cats.
Xavier – The Musketeers finished the year 21-13. They had a brutal schedule, but finished with great wins against: Butler, Creighton, Seton Hall, and Utah. Led by the Junior standout Trevon Bluiett, I think the Musketeers can make a sneaky run in this years tournament. Watch out for Xavier!
My Final Four Picks
Duke, Arizona, Oregon, & Kentucky
Unfortunately, no school from Utah made the tournament this year, but look for Utah and BYU in the NIT.
I’m looking forward to the Madness, and would love to hear all of your thoughts on your picks!
